4th New England International Nanomanufacturing Workshop

June 27 and June 28, 2006

The Objective: to address moving from the laboratory to industry-floor manufacturing.

  • What are the technical barriers to scale-up?
  • What are the technical barriers to integrating nano-elements with micro- and macro-structures?
  • What are the current successes for scale-up of fast directed assembly?
  • What past experiences (lessons learned) in scaling-up processes (e.g. microelectronic pharmaceuticals and materials) can be applied to nanomanufacturing?
  • What is the societal impact (economics, environment, ethical, regulatory, etc.) of nanomanufacturing
